Trying Times? Self Control.

Shit. Scary Fighters... Missiles loaded...
... Somebody's gonna get hurt real bad '__'

So I've been avoiding subjects of politics and war. I do this because they are both quite obselete in our present time. Along with hatred and fear of the unknown, both plottish political manipulation and warfare can have tremendously dangerous outcomes for human civilization on a local and international level. It is probably common knowledge by now that the past 7 days (and actually 50 years, but we'll leave that for later) have been a trying time for one of my home countries. Difficult, often violent, and frequently misrepresented.

We begin by leaving a few things behind. 9.11 happened, and had rather extreme fallout for many countries all over the world, including both my homes; Canada and Pakistan. I last visited in August 01 and more recently aswell. Both times, my cousins asked me the simple question, I paraphrase closely:
"so after y'know, education and stuff... Have you thought about coming back?"
*sigh* a difficult question to address. I won't go into the rampant corruption that Pakistan is suffering under right now... Most of us who read news and talk to our relatives overseas have a reasonable idea of what's been going on in Asia for a long, long time...

The first message is this:

Indeed, we may never know what happened on 9.11. Indeed, there are all kinds of possibilities involving moussad, thebrits, their friends theyanks and others... Indeed, there is the possibility that the reports that it was unforseen are totally false. But these are but possibilities. We may know to be certain just what happened then, and what is truly going on in the war at hand in Iraq, but there is little certainty or credibility to be found there. Some have actually postulated that the war there has very little to do with oil and domination, but something far more subtle, having to do with control over a very useful human resource. These are all plausible possibilities of our present global political situation, and should be thought of as such.

And yet. There is also the distinct possibility that Muslims have a responsibility over their own extremist tendencies.

Oops. It had to be said folks, don't bother getting offended, because at some level, we all know it to be true.

Now. Before spewing forth some meaningless sillyness about freedom of philosophy, let's just carefully consider the following:

Choosing a philosophy that is composed of hatred and anger is very pointless. This is neither the point of Islam, nor of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shinto or Taoist systems of belief. I only list those with which I have a level of familiarity, so it is also rather pointless so say that the previous statement is incorrect. Naturally speaking, existentialism and agnosticism lead to similar conclusions, but that can be discussed when the need arises...

Now. There are some issues involved in choice of philosophy. This is separate from concepts of religion, strict dogma, and obsession with basic rituals and the concepts should not be confused. As an example, the concepts of good and evil, as we are becoming aware, have become quite eroded and murky in our present and practically posthuman age. This is fine, and represents progress at the human level. It is difficult and redundant, though to use those terms for thinking, since they actually facilitate the manifestation of paranoia and other negative emotions in our minds and hearts. This is highly dangerous, and most often leads to invasive mechanical protocols and other radical means of artificially simulated control. Television and other such systems being an excellent and now traditional example, as predicted by Bradbury, Orwell and a great many others.

On the other hand, the more tangible concepts of harmful and harmless are far more useful given our present predicament. And as that elusive bunny once said... That's all folks!

Honestly, it never was a question of Eastern vs. Western philosophy, left vs. right, good vs. bad, loud vs. quiet... The issue is simply a question of recognizing yourself in the mirror. That which proves sentience, remember?

What do you see? Pretty? Ugly? Light? Dark?
Umm. Please exercise your right to self-control!
You are a human being, no doubt like the rest of us, so lets not be so hard on ourselves.

Religion and fancy rituals are appealing? Then go, be religious. Prefer more general philosophies, and less physical manifestations of human belief? Then do that instead. Prefer to believe in only what you see and hear? Well... That's fine too, but forget those silly concepts of good and evil, because they don't really serve people, but rather have the effect of locking us into self-created categories. This creates isolation, and harms unity, community and global understanding.

*whew! that was a little intense, but I assure you the end of this post is nearing so we can get to the second and hopefully more interesting message:

poem for the third Planet:

So we love love and peace.
And want others to love as we do;
To share and experience what we know.
But there are things that cannot be forced...
People are hateful, mad and confused at times,
Does it make them any less human?
It does, however, present a rather great challenge!

_establishing uplink...
_please stand by... A human message will follow...
_Launch codes confirmed, proceeding with revelations:

People have opportunities, all around them, above and underneath.
Within and without,
To to create, facilitate, organize and sustain our peace.
It is a process, it is a journey, its a long one, but it can be fast or slow.
What does it actually mean to create and sustain long-term human cohabitation and meaningful understanding?
Peace is manifested through direct, transparent and honest means.
A game, life is? For some perhaps, for the careless, surely.
Fire extinguishers are required to extinguish the false blaze of hatred.
Rescuers are needed to protect children from misunderstanding.

Builders are needed to reconstruct this peace, and maintain us to ensure the survival of our species. Hehe it sounds dramatic...

To all who are afraid and disheartened:

Close your eyes, stand up.
Firm, strong, stand together.
In the name of truth, peace and honesty.
Fear neither barbarians nor dark days or dark alleyways.
Will. Hope. Strife. Progress. Human. Progression. Unstoppable force of humility and trust.
Situation, predicament, all are weaker than the depth of soul.
Focus. Energy. Meditate. Awaken...
LIVE.

Negative energies are transient and have no bearing on spiritual awakening.
Indeed, this too shall pass. Strength is required, 4 peace will prevail.
Let that mysterious force, whatever it is you believe in...
Let it do what it does best, for only that positive force has the power to truly change hearts.

And for the weak: Live and let be... If you feel you are not yet ready to initiate meaningful change on a global scale... Your time will come. It is our collective destiny ^__^

Always remember that fear, misunderstanding and ignorance are the enemy...
Patience and perseverance is the way. Pay no attention to mindless laughing hyenas!

Okay, Okay already!
So I'm
a bit of a fanboy >__<
Sue me! +__+

Fiction.

It reminds us that at times ideas are best conveyed through the voices of imaginary characters...

Through that window into the world of make-belief we catch all kinds of interesting glimpses.
Images, reflections, distortions and all kinds of combinations of human emotions, sensations, thoughts and dreams...

[ahem]
Reader, fear not. [AK] is good and done ripping off the reboot intro right about now
[/ahem]

Now. I've been meaning to do a piece on the Legend of Zelda 4 some time now...
So at long, long last... Here it is:

[f4nb0yRant4ge
]
As often happens in life...
1 fine day you yourself.
Stranded. (randomly)
On a island.
No, not one of those picturesque ones in the Galapagos like Jack Scarecrow!
Like a wierd random one...
Naturally, there were kind and helpful people who put you there...
And being kind, they insisted you could only bring 1 video game franchise with you.
You may not know it yet, but this franchise happens to be teh Legend of Zelda.
tut-tut-tut! A Final Fantasy uberfan are you?...
Hate mail goes HERE friend :D
[/f4nb0yRant4ge]

So here's to the Zelda fans, old and new, and umm, like you future fans too!

From the adorable, stern and knowing voice of Navi that guided us through
Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, I give you "Hey! Listen!"

N: Oy, Link.
L: [zzz]
N: Umm... LINK! Wake the f$%k up baka-yaro!
L: [nnn...] "w t f ... is a frikkin talking piece of dust... With wings... Doin'... in my treehouse?"
N: Ahem. I do have a name y'know.
L: "Like... Other than tinkerbell's sister's cousin twice removed?!"
N: It's Navi wiseass.
L: *snort* "umm... Kay... And what can I do for you, oh figment of Shiggy's imagination?!"

N: Meh. Usual. World coming to and end and all that...

[totallyEndlessCinematic]
Remember, Link... Remember.
Only arrows of light will pierce the darkness.
It never made much sense to fight fire with fire.
If you seek love, go learn!
About yourself, your surroundings, and our world.
Preserve it, protect it.
Restore that seemingly lost peace.
And like get a sword or something, you look like a stuffed toy!
Quench those blazing fires,
And pick up the pieces of your broken heart already ya lazy bum!

Keep moving, Link...

Go find your princess, kid.
So what if she's frozen into some statue?!
Wanna fight about it?!
*sigh* so she's held up in some castle...
But you'll find her. You'll have to.

I really love the themes and imagery in Ocarina of Time.
Simple, honest and true;

- In daily life, there's really no such thing as a non-player character.
- You already have the power to dream, so dream.
- If you haven't found your dream yet, don't worry...
- But u better not be afraid to go out and find it.
- When you're ready to chase it... Either run, or find like... A horse or something!
- We're only destined to become the main character in our lives...

The fiction that holds us back is the same fiction we encounter in the world around us.
Those empty and meaningless voices of cynicism and doubt...
As powerful and dark they may seem, they're just thoughts.

The idea that there's an easy and constantly fun way to live through life is an

So... Umm... What's a Rumi?!

Oi! Who is this wierd looking character??!
...
Not some kinda terrorist is he??!
!
Not so much. Allow me to tell a short story:
So I'm hanging out with an older cousin the other day. We're out walking the dog of course, and meander onto the top of a small hill in the neighbourhood. We sit down on it and gaze up at the stars. Being a couple of sciency geeks we find ourselves talking about how can we know the distances between 2 stars in space. He should know really, he's the one who knows how to use an astrolabe! But alas we're not too sure. I tell him, well in ancient times in Arabia they used the stars to navigate the oceans, so they probably knew about these things... I sighed, wondering why, in our super-fantastisch technological age we didn't know the answer! I thought to myself, "Common dude, think! We've got Hubble now, all kinds of fancy schmancy satellites and giant observatories peppering our blue-green spere... How can I now know the answer to this seemingly basic question?!" Alas. We had no internet access, no wikipedia, no tools and indeed, no answer to this obviously not-so-simple question. So I turn to him and tell him: "Well, dude... If anyone living in those ancient Arabian sea-faring days knew the answer to that, I'll bet Rumi knew!".
It was then that he asked me: "Umm, ok... Who's Rumi?!"
[headAsplode]
Wow. Here we were, gazing at the stars in the spring of the 2007 UNESCO Rumi year, and this cat hadn't the first freakin clue who the dude was!
*sigh* Anyway, although I can't really explain him in words properly... I mean I'm not sure anybody really can, but I have started to read his works recently, and I'll say just this: He was basically the Sufi poet.
With that said, I've been getting some unexpected and interesting responses to the question I posed in my previous entry, about sentimentality... And I scrawled some of my apparently random thoughts on the matter. Had I never read Rumi, there is simply no way I could think along these lines....
Warning! All hands on deck.
[AK] is about pull a Rumi:
"We keep ourselves locked into these silly little boxes.
We cling to them for no apparent reason, and seem to take pleasure in keeping them hidden in deep underground crypts.
We do that in the hopes that the eggs that are our most secret dreams will not hatch.
What do we fear? Ourselves, clearly.
Why are we so afraid of our own reflections?
Because when we slowly open our eyes and allow our deepest thoughts to discreetly flow out from our fingertips...
We slowly begin to assemble the little bits and pieces of the ultimate future that is our collective and inevitable destiny.
It is ours to build, and awaits us around the next bend in our future.
Who are we? What are we?
...
WE
Are that terrorless generation that has no choice but to ignore those worthless and decietful patterns our parents once held on to so dearly.
Paranoia and careless hatred will achieve only that which has already gone before.
Comrades... The time to stand united is upon us...
And rapidly passing us by.
We no longer have the imaginary luxury of ignoring those silent voices of truth that echo from within our souls...
Allow that uncertain stream of combined effort to slay those foolish, cheating, laughing hyenas that have been trying to show up in our hearts ;)
Let 'em be!
Let us BE.
We must simply and nimbly rise.
Rise.
Rise above.
Above all the fears that exist, and run towards what we have always felt is our destiny."

Summer Changes

Mo, Wolf & a Miata in Montreal

So this is interesting. Image in grayscale AND centered?!

[AK] not only changed the blog title (hopefully for the last time) but is now doing wacky things with formatting.

*sigh* it's ok readers, I exasperate myself sometimes too... Kfine... All the time >__<.

Why the change? Summer's here, you sillies! Get out and get some fresh air already!

Thanks Momo and Wolf for getting me out of teh house with the camera again! We had sort of cloudy and miserable shooting conditions, but I think I'm learning something about finding beauty in the darkness...

So you'll notice the Animation Generation was updated!

Hehe, I'm talking about my little post, of course... I like it! So I tried to polish it up a bit, ooh n I added a recently viewed title to the list!

Umm, why [life]Scrypt right? Well, double meanings are fun, so are deeper meanings and well meanings in general ^__^ as you no doubt know by now... Also, I kinda wanted to get my initials out of the title, it seemed at a bit presumptuous in hindsight +__+.

What about a real update? The answer is I know, I know, and I'm working on it! In the meantime you can all help by emailing or commenting maybe your thoughts on sentimentality in our post modern times... Ooh, yeah big thing there, and reader input is needed!

Oh, another important note! A lot of what you'll read here is a lot less meaningful unless you click on the HYPERLINKSonegaishimasu! Grr! A few of you told me you don't bother, but please do, thehumourisattimesintheconnectionsandnotsomuchinthe text itself! It's a script, right?! *sigh*

Okaayyy, let's try one, just ONE:

Please click here to see shutterbug from our backyard.

...

Yattaaaa...

So I gotta run for now, but friends, please forgive me for not being online more... I sort of want [life]Scrypt to be my residual presence on the net or something... Like, no I'm not online, but my thoughts are? Hehe, wtv, get outdoors people!

The Animation Generation - Rockin' the 90's

1995.
Kevin Mitnick is arrested by the FBI for hacking into the America's "safest" computer networks >__<

Windows 95 was rolling onto desktops everywhere, promising to revolutionize the world by dinner time +__+

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 30 points to close above 4,000 for the first time in history and we were too young to give a crap ^__^

The Oklahoma City bombing took the lives of 168 people that year, a tragedy that would forever change the security laws we operate under... And yet.

You might be wondering how a ten year old can deal with all this stuff?

Well, from what I can remember, I was way too busy watching Saturday morning cartoons =)
So many great toons come to mind, too many in fact, but here's a few that stood out:

-nostalgia-
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (before they became an acronym ;)
- Biker Mice From Mars (what a name! They just don't make 'em like that anymore!)
- Captain Planet (I'm alt-tabbing between an environmental engie paper right now, so go figure)
- Goof Troop (best served in the basement with a popsicle)
- Talespin (as a kid with my head in the clouds, this was one of my top 3, Don Carnage = Best demented villain EVER, Skyboard thingy was SICK and I still want one)
- Timon and Pumba (I somehow felt like these 2D best friends were my friends too. They were just so happy all the time!)
-/nostalgia-

I could go on and on like this... But the point is, animation is such a critical part of our generation's pop culture. We grew up watching cartoons, many of us still do, and will continue to until death to us part!

Thankfully, animation has been growing up along with us. The subject matter changed, new styles have been popping up, and new tech options have given birth to new styles. Those fresh ideas that were so difficult to express with old school techniques are now within the grasp of almost anyone! Well, anyone who's willing to make the next click, that is...
Anime happened! Serious story lines, ridiculous story lines, complete lack of story lines!

It all happened so fast, we were hooked before we knew it!

Off the top of my head, I can think of a few landmark anime series/films that have been landmark works in my life:

-otakuness-
- My Neighbour Totoro
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Spirited Away
- Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
- Ghost in the Shell
- Wolf's Rain (dark, at times painful, but SO honest)
- Fullmetal Alchemist (genre-defining)
- Pale Coccoon (A very profound short film, The Matrix fans: this is for you!)
- The Place Promised in our Early Days (Shinkai is a quiet genius, look out for 5cm per second due out this year)
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (One of the smartest anime I've ever seen)
- Last Exile (Started watching this one recently... Aviation fans... Watch out!)
-/otakuness-

Clearly I've left out too many classics and favourites, but these are a few of the titles that have made an impression on me, personally. It's been as though just when we thought Hollywood was going downhill, mainstream TV became one neverending ad... Visual storytelling needed a kick in the pants, and got a ninja star to the head instead!

The point is, when the world around us is too intense to handle, we all need something to turn to. Something imaginary and completely out of this world. When the fan hits the $h!t, it's fiction and fantasy that reminds us that we've always had the power to dream, imagine and laugh.
Don't lose faith in the world kids... It's the only world we have ; )

Immigrant!

Prohibito!
I love this pic
It's on the Mexican border!
Sums up the situation, no?

Immigrants =) Had to do an immigrant post. It was gonna happen, and there's no better time than now!
I used to be be an immigrant, back in '89... I still remember my first Montreal winter. Aaah, back when cold still had a meaning! Those were the days I tell you, when ya had to walk twenty six miles to school every day. Uphill. Both ways! :S
It's a given that in all societies there's a whole bunch of issues having to do with "The People of the Boat", here's a few that I've come across in Canada and the UK:

- They're taking all our jobs! It was my dream to be a telemarketer *sob* (daily occurrance in QC)
- Could you please turn down your bhangra sir, we can hear it eight blocks away (don't get me started...)
- Look at 'im go! There's another one, they drive like it's the streets of Bangkok I tell you! (y'know I have Asian friends that admit they're terrible drivers!)
- Umm, can you please tell your child not to run naked in the street, I might have to call child protection (This actually happened on a friend's street in Birmingham, totally surreal)
- Could you turn your rooster down a bit, please... It's five in the morning. (Birmingham again)
- Does Concordia even hire white engineering profs?! :S (A mysterious and unexplained occurence)

Anyway the list goes on... A recording from Arnie the Governator recently appeared on the net where he's discussing issues regarding waving foreign flags in the State of California... Heh. See, that's why Canada's not a melting pot, it's a mosaic. We're actually trying to be third world country :D

Seriously though. I have to take my hat off to people to can do that. I mean flying by the seat of your pants, giving up everything that's known and secure and going on an adventure overseas! I totally would love to but prrrobably don't have the balls or funds to do that... Yet!

Anyway, we've all got to share one little planet and we're bound to move around a bit. So before you roll your eyes at your LCD, you'd better listen up:

Our world isn't actually all that big if you put your mind to it:

- Mostly water (Who's crazy idea was "ocean ELEVEN KILOMETERS deep"?! Does the word excess mean anything to you?!)
- All the really big countries like Russia and Canada are frighteningly cold and generally inhospitable (If I ever find the chap who invented cold I'll smack him with a live pirhana and then shoot him!)
- The other big country, directly to the South of Canada happens to be chock full of barbarians right about now. Call them wild, cannibalous albino apes if you like, raving lunatics bent on war and destruction, whatever. Basically They're packed with RWu's (not to be trusted!)
- I should mention that all the space in the big country with the red and white flag is presently used up. By free-roaming wild animals maming innocent Hollywood stars by the shipload. (Michael Jackson's surgery was the best they could do! You have NO idea what a mountain Lynx in heat is capable of!)
- Trust me I know, I keep a pair of penguins as pets, a polar bear as a guard dog and an elk for warmth. (It isn't exactly practical, but it's necessary;)
- So if you're not already living here, as I once was, and are considering coming to the "land of opportunity" [whatever the hell that means], take my word for it, all that nonsense about the global development index is only in the mind ; )
- Chances are you're better off where you are, at least you don't need to worry about feeding the elk, never mind cleaning up after it... This thing shits like something out of a Spielberg epic...

Spring Colours + Philosophy

w00t! Spring has sprung!
This melting snow
These opening skies
The light breeze

The cool rain it brings
Nature is waking up again!

All around us are the signs of spring coming back. Vitamin D! I felt the need to change up the blog colours for the occasion =)
See it's all in the hopes of sort of encouraging the weather to warm up. I recently saw an amazing documentary film about the Sufi mystic poet Rumi. I knew next to nothing about him and what I learnt blew me away! Dude was deeeeeep... One of the most interesting lines in the film was "It is the water that seeks the thirst". I like this because we sort of assume we are always the seekers, where in some situations we might be the sought!
It's a philosophy I like and I've decided to change the blog colours with the seasons ^__^
See, we sometimes think of computers as dry and intrinsically mechanical things that have little to no connection with the natural and spiritual world. Thing is though, that they connect human beings together, by giving us an easy way to share our thoughts, words, sounds, images and experiences. So instead of thinking as the internet and cyberspace as an isolated data space on a different plane from the physical world, I prefer to percieve it as a realm that exists by consequence to the natural world, and exists to serve us =)
It's a bit more optimistic than the scary The Matrix philosophy. The way I see it, it's really not that far off, I'm personally quite weary of things like MMORPGS, augmented reality, UAVs and nanotech. So long as we're a bit optomistic, and well keep our place in the food chain, it's all good!
So this final exam season, take a breath of fresh air on your break; put down the game controller for a bit, close the laptop and go get some vitamin D! Take walks in the spring before the summer heat shuts us in again!
Happy spring everyone ^__^

Rant: what's an RWu?!

Oh look, it's Bush
Looks a proper dick, no?
Incoming transmission...
...
Stand by, this IS a rant!

There’s something deeply satisfying and deeply Canadian about a good rant.
I guess we’re used to nattering on and not being heard…
Being the nice neighbours to the North and all…

Now. I read a particularly compelling article last week, written by a college friend. It doesn't matter that the article was written for a paper at the third rate establishment down the road. What's important is that said friend's identity, for reasons of common decency, will remain anonymous. I'll refer to him only as the unsquishable Roach.

Why do I refer to him as a creepy-crawly insect that lurks under your sink? Simple. When the revolution comes, or the world’s Right Wing uberconservatives [RWu for short]
nuke us all to kingdom come, there is but one creature that will see the sun rise that morning. The cockroach.

That, incidentally sums up the article in itself!

Now then, if you're reading this, and happen to be a Right Wing uberconservative [monkey], an important message follows. This applies particularly if you are any type of RWu lawyer, politician, CEO, or other variety of
unicellular creature of inconsequential intellect.

-messageFromtehEstablishment-
AKScript cordially invites you to sit back, relax, shut your web browser, and piss off =)
Oh, and after you've done so, you're also free to
sodomize yourself with a retractable baton =)=)=)
See what happens when you don't do as you're told?
-/messageFromtehEstablishment-

If, on the other hand, you're like the rest of us... a roach, shitstarter, hacker, streetracer, free-thinking intellectual, a tomato named Potato, whatever... Rock on. The world needs more individuals, and fewer consumers!

Nicknames & Wierd Mind Games

Blog posts unintelligible, millions revolt.
As if.
So I've been told that some of the references I make are a little obscure...
Well, too bad! Those in the know, know.

If something sounds cryptic, it's probably meant to!
If you think you recognize yourself but not the nickname, congrats, you've been blogged!

Right. That said, worry not, this isn't only a blog for inside jokes =)

One Day at the Bus Stop...

ButtseX.
(Dude WTF?!)
There. I said it.
The word that makes Right Wing uberconservatives cringe with disgust.

So why is BX Relevant? Here's a true story:
-trueTale-
A number of years ago, when I was still a college boy, a good old friend from high school Chem (whom we shall refer to as the elusive ghost of Hungaroring, you guessed it, egH) called me up for a chat. I remember this as though it were yesterday, I guess it was a landmark or sorts...

It was a Saturday evening in November, quite chilly, and I was waiting for the bus. I was on my way to hang out with the unsquishable Roach, the god of Gamblers (goG), my dai Lo from Taiwan (dLT), and a few other chaps and chapettes. We were on our separate ways to a billiards in Montreal's "Con you" district, infamously known as teh Sharx.

egH was nattering on to me in his usual funny and clever way as I was sort of hopping around in the bus booth, as we all do to keep warm on those chilly, chilly November days.... We were talking about this and that as we all do when we get phone calls at bus booths and have nothing particularly pressing to discuss... The topic of the evening's escapades came up, and he mentioned that he was off to some flashy and smashy new club in the Village district. Now, I should mention that he's the sort to hang about in the Village, which is a generally pretty interesting and cultured part of town anyway.

So I asked him, coz by that point it was fairly obvious; "egH, old chap... You haven't switched teams on me, have you? Not batting lefty on me, or anything?" and it was then that he rightly asked me what my R-score was. I replied that although he had a point, it was nothing of the sort and I kind of had a sneaking suspicion anyway; )

It made no difference though, because what happened in those minutes changed me. It hit me like a brick with git written on it thrown from a moving STM bus. This chap had been a good friend for years, and it was silly to think of changing that. So what did I do? Nothing, silly, I got on the bus and hit downtown!

As we continued our chat it became increasingly obvious that it made absolutely no sense whatsoever to harbour a hatred within me that had no basis in the world that I had experienced up until that point in time. So eventually we clicked over and out, he was off to his wild party in the district. As for myself, it was off to shoot billiards with the chaps (and chapettes) at teh Sharx.
-/trueTale-

Were we really all that different? Other than the obvious, of course... But all that BX stuff is pretty personal isn't it? I mean why should I mind what makes my friends happy, so long as they're happy and not harming anyone, right?

Basically... There are a million and one reasons to hate one another, but reason itself can help us understand what it means to love. It's an odd little conundrum, and brings up a number of interesting discussions...

If you feel you've got something positive to contribute, please go ahead and mention it in the comments box, I'm interested in hearing fresh thoughts. I shouldn't have to mention that if you post something hateful, I'll just delete you so don't bother =)
