... Somebody's gonna get hurt real bad '__'
So I've been avoiding subjects of politics and war. I do this because they are both quite obselete in our present time. Along with hatred and fear of the unknown, both plottish political manipulation and warfare can have tremendously dangerous outcomes for human civilization on a local and international level. It is probably common knowledge by now that the past 7 days (and actually 50 years, but we'll leave that for later) have been a trying time for one of my home countries. Difficult, often violent, and frequently misrepresented.
We begin by leaving a few things behind. 9.11 happened, and had rather extreme fallout for many countries all over the world, including both my homes; Canada and Pakistan. I last visited in August 01 and more recently aswell. Both times, my cousins asked me the simple question, I paraphrase closely:
"so after y'know, education and stuff... Have you thought about coming back?"
*sigh* a difficult question to address. I won't go into the rampant corruption that Pakistan is suffering under right now... Most of us who read news and talk to our relatives overseas have a reasonable idea of what's been going on in Asia for a long, long time...
The first message is this:
Indeed, we may never know what happened on 9.11. Indeed, there are all kinds of possibilities involving moussad, thebrits, their friends theyanks and others... Indeed, there is the possibility that the reports that it was unforseen are totally false. But these are but possibilities. We may know to be certain just what happened then, and what is truly going on in the war at hand in Iraq, but there is little certainty or credibility to be found there. Some have actually postulated that the war there has very little to do with oil and domination, but something far more subtle, having to do with control over a very useful human resource. These are all plausible possibilities of our present global political situation, and should be thought of as such.
And yet. There is also the distinct possibility that Muslims have a responsibility over their own extremist tendencies.
Oops. It had to be said folks, don't bother getting offended, because at some level, we all know it to be true.
Now. Before spewing forth some meaningless sillyness about freedom of philosophy, let's just carefully consider the following:
Choosing a philosophy that is composed of hatred and anger is very pointless. This is neither the point of Islam, nor of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shinto or Taoist systems of belief. I only list those with which I have a level of familiarity, so it is also rather pointless so say that the previous statement is incorrect. Naturally speaking, existentialism and agnosticism lead to similar conclusions, but that can be discussed when the need arises...
Now. There are some issues involved in choice of philosophy. This is separate from concepts of religion, strict dogma, and obsession with basic rituals and the concepts should not be confused. As an example, the concepts of good and evil, as we are becoming aware, have become quite eroded and murky in our present and practically posthuman age. This is fine, and represents progress at the human level. It is difficult and redundant, though to use those terms for thinking, since they actually facilitate the manifestation of paranoia and other negative emotions in our minds and hearts. This is highly dangerous, and most often leads to invasive mechanical protocols and other radical means of artificially simulated control. Television and other such systems being an excellent and now traditional example, as predicted by Bradbury, Orwell and a great many others.
On the other hand, the more tangible concepts of harmful and harmless are far more useful given our present predicament. And as that elusive bunny once said... That's all folks!
Honestly, it never was a question of Eastern vs. Western philosophy, left vs. right, good vs. bad, loud vs. quiet... The issue is simply a question of recognizing yourself in the mirror. That which proves sentience, remember?
What do you see? Pretty? Ugly? Light? Dark?
Umm. Please exercise your right to self-control!
You are a human being, no doubt like the rest of us, so lets not be so hard on ourselves.
Religion and fancy rituals are appealing? Then go, be religious. Prefer more general philosophies, and less physical manifestations of human belief? Then do that instead. Prefer to believe in only what you see and hear? Well... That's fine too, but forget those silly concepts of good and evil, because they don't really serve people, but rather have the effect of locking us into self-created categories. This creates isolation, and harms unity, community and global understanding.
*whew! that was a little intense, but I assure you the end of this post is nearing so we can get to the second and hopefully more interesting message:
poem for the third Planet:
So we love love and peace.
And want others to love as we do;
To share and experience what we know.
But there are things that cannot be forced...
People are hateful, mad and confused at times,
Does it make them any less human?
It does, however, present a rather great challenge!
_establishing uplink...
_please stand by... A human message will follow...
_Launch codes confirmed, proceeding with revelations:
People have opportunities, all around them, above and underneath.
Within and without,
To to create, facilitate, organize and sustain our peace.
It is a process, it is a journey, its a long one, but it can be fast or slow.
What does it actually mean to create and sustain long-term human cohabitation and meaningful understanding?
Peace is manifested through direct, transparent and honest means.
A game, life is? For some perhaps, for the careless, surely.
Fire extinguishers are required to extinguish the false blaze of hatred.
Rescuers are needed to protect children from misunderstanding.
Builders are needed to reconstruct this peace, and maintain us to ensure the survival of our species. Hehe it sounds dramatic...
To all who are afraid and disheartened:
Close your eyes, stand up.
Firm, strong, stand together.
In the name of truth, peace and honesty.
Fear neither barbarians nor dark days or dark alleyways.
Will. Hope. Strife. Progress. Human. Progression. Unstoppable force of humility and trust.
Situation, predicament, all are weaker than the depth of soul.
Focus. Energy. Meditate. Awaken...
LIVE.
Negative energies are transient and have no bearing on spiritual awakening.
Indeed, this too shall pass. Strength is required, 4 peace will prevail.
Let that mysterious force, whatever it is you believe in...
Let it do what it does best, for only that positive force has the power to truly change hearts.
And for the weak: Live and let be... If you feel you are not yet ready to initiate meaningful change on a global scale... Your time will come. It is our collective destiny ^__^
Always remember that fear, misunderstanding and ignorance are the enemy...
Patience and perseverance is the way. Pay no attention to mindless laughing hyenas!
Signed,
